About Betsy Dillard Stroud

Betsy Dillard Stroud, a born Virginian, has lived in Arizona since 1996 and has been painting since the age of eight. A former art historian, Stroud received her M. A. in art history from the University of Virginia. Her paintings are filled with the marriage of her art history background, her love of color affected by the ambience of the west and the southwest, and the symbolism created by her life experiences.

She is an acclaimed painter who has won many awards including the High Winds Medal in the American Watercolor Society in New York, and most recently the 2014 Dr. David Gale Award in the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies.
