In this collection of six videos from ICDT host Chad Stanton, you’ll learn step-by-step how to build solid, well-designed items using inexpensive materials and tools from the home center. Using basic hand tools and portable power tools, you can convert dimensional lumber into great-looking furniture for your home.
Episode 1: Benchtop Router Table Chad builds a benchtop router table that he’ll use to make other projects throughout this season. The router table includes an adjustable fence, dust collection and even a clever T-square guide for supporting small pieces. Designed for smaller trim routers, it’s an affordable and valuable addition to any shop.
Episode 2: Drawer Joinery Chad takes the opportunity to trick out his new router table by adding a set of drawers, and uses the process to teach two practical drawer joints that can be used in a variety of woodworking projects.
Episodes 3 & 4: Rocking Chair Chairs aren’t the easiest of projects – and rocking chairs can be very tricky – but Chad puts the I Can Do That magic to work in this two-part project and makes this great rocker easy, fun and comfortable!
Episode 5: Fireplace Bookcase Chad has come up with a great-looking bookcase in the shape of a fireplace surround, complete with mantel! Great for dressing up a room while adding valuable storage.
Episode 6: Puzzle-Leg Coffee Table Chad takes a wooden puzzle and expands it up to table size. Built with 2x pine and plywood, this project adds puzzling fun with some simple construction to make a great conversation piece.
